Vintage Piero Forasetti Small Soli E Lune (Sun & Moon) Plate.
The plate depicts in black and white the face of the sun with swirling rays emanating from the face. A thin gilt line is found around the exterior of the rim.

Reference: Fornasetti: Designer of Dreams, Patrick Mauries, Page 226-228 for illustration of set of coasters in this sun & moon design from 1955, The author writes, “The sun was eventually recognized as one of Fornasetti’s personal devices”.
